美国戏剧家尤金·奥尼尔心仪东方思想、尤其是中国道家 ,“东方特色”成为其作品最重要、最显著的一个方面。本文介绍并分析了奥尼尔对东方宗教与哲学的兴趣与其戏剧创作的关系及其个人世界观和人生观方面的原因 ,并指出其社会文化根源以及在东西方文化交流趋势中的体现。

American playwright Eugene O'Neill is a case in point in the field of literature.
