摘要
The Middle East development pattern is basically a compound term referring to the development patterns in the region which bear some similarities. There are at least five development patterns in the Middle East:Iran’s Islamic development pattern,Saudi Arabia’s monarchy development pattern,Egypt’s secular nationalist development pattern,Turkey’s IMF development pattern, and Israel’s settler-military-high science and technology pattern.Their similarities lie in as follows:they have developed under the circumstances of political upheaval and oil price fluctuations, revealing obvious unsteadiness and bumping character; a mechanism of self sustained development has not yet taken shape;the state or government still plays the decisive role in the development;the traditional social forces play an important role in the development;the traditional culture has its influence on the direction, approach and speed of development;petroleum sector and/or service sector occupy/occupies prominent position in the industrial structure of most of the countries;there are no close economic ties among them;the rate of accumulation is low and the consumption accounts for a relatively high proportion;intensification remains at low level in most of the countries;urbanization tends to be too fast.
