摘要
胡适作为一位学者型作家,之所以在新文学上“创造无力”,佳作较少,乃是由于他从小情感和情感功能受压抑,美感欠锐敏,想象力亦未得到应有的发展;他的艺术心理稍嫌狭小、局促,结构欠协调,缺乏必要的生命活力与审美张力;主体从青年时代逐渐养成的“考据癖”,积久愈深,不可自拔,成为其艺术心理的强大对抗与消解力量,使之日益钝化,几近枯萎。对此,我们不应苛求。
Hu Shi's disability in the creation of new literature was due to the depressing feelings and undeveloped imaginations in his childhood. His artistic psychology was somewhat narrow and disharmonious in structure, and so destitute of life vigor and tensile aesthetic force that was necessary for literature. The hobby of textual research that had been cultivated gradually in his youth turned out a rival force against his artistic psychology.
