圣人作为一个中国哲学的范畴，在与道的关系中表现为知“道”者；在与人的关系中体现为理想人格模式；在与社会的关系中表现为构建理想社会模式的基点。在这三个关系的会通中，它联系着形而上的天、道与形而下的人、社会，并将这两个方面一统到一起。

Abstract The sage, being a category in the Chinese philosophy, is a person who understands the Way, an ideal pattern for personality and a starting point for constructing an ideal society. The sage has been taken as the medium between the Heaven and human being because the metaphysical Heaven and the Way are connected with the physical people and society through and by the sage.
