本文对1986～1996 年10 年间世界田径运动竞技水平发展变化进行了探讨。揭示了世界田径男、女各项竞技水平发展变化的总态势,对其发展和衰退的程度进行了排序。旨在弄清世界田径各项的发展趋势。

The ten years' (1986～1996) development of world track and field is analyzed in this paper to reveal the overall variation of competitive levels in each men's and women's event. Based on this analysis, all these events are ranked according to their progression and recession. This will provide a reference to learn the development of world track and field, optimally develop track and field event in the country and work out training plan.
