中国玩具行业:现状与前景

摘要 改革开放前,中国的玩具工业十分落后,玩具生产企业的数量和规模都很小,玩具的产量有限,品种稀少,产品的档次也很低。当时,几乎是千篇一律的塑料娃娃、简单的铁皮小汽车,那些高档的电子玩具、电动玩具和益智玩具几乎是空白。我国儿童可以选择的玩具品种很少,就更不用说可以供老年人和青年人娱乐的玩具了。造成这种落后局面的原因很多。 Before reforms and opening-up, China's toy industry was dropped behind by the world. Number and sizes of China's toy factories were small, and their output and variety limited. Plastic dolls and very simple auto models were all children could have. There were no electronic toys or brain-developing toys. Children had not many choices, and no to mention toys for old generations and teenagers. One of the reasons for that was the close-door policy then. Since the China kicked off reform and opening-up in 1978, however, its toy industry has leaped. So far, there are more than 3000 toy factories and 200 thousand practitioners. The sum is not complete. China is now widely regarded as the biggest toy producer and exporter, and potentially, the biggest consuming country. According to China Custom's statistics, China exports $3.5 billion worth of toys to the United States. And the U.S. toy manufacturers estimated that the number to be $5 billion, making up 70% of the U.S. toy imports. Most of the toys in the U.S. market are labeled with 'Made in China'. Though China has a big toy industry, it is dominated by processing.design and development and after- processing sales are in the hands of overseas businesses. On the other hand, the Chinese toy makers lack the ability to develop original products, and powerful administration within the industry. Following initiatives are needed for the development of the industry. Ⅰ. Enhance the development and design ability as soon as possible. More efforts should be given to foster professionals in this field. Chinese toys should not be of 'low IQ' any more. Ⅱ. More overseas capitals should be used in the industry. The industry should upgrade its technical level. A layout of development in different regions should be established, to promote exchanges between the East and the West, and between the South and the North. Ⅲ. Improve the administration in the industry.
