我国有着上万年制造陶器的历史,更有3000多年制瓷的历史①。历代名窑迭起,精品辈出,为丰富世界文化宝库作出了重要的贡献。从中国有关陶瓷的论著来看,自唐代陆羽《茶经》开始论述越、鼎、婆、岳、寿、洪。

The study of science and technology in ceramics is a weak link in the Chinese history of ceramics,so the birth of the present volume will be a turning point for changing.This book,written on a solid foundation,has drawn rich materials including quantitative scientific data,and made full use of chemical composition data base,physical information on microformation of body and glaze of ancient Chinese ceramics,and a batch of new scientific methods and its achievements.In the meantime,the present report also puts forward its view in the history of science and technology in some arguable prob- lems.Undoubtedly,the publication of this volume should create a new era in the study of Chinese ceramic history of science and technology.
