摘要
左湖遗址位于镇江市丹徒镇南1公里处的左湖村西北,与长江遥遥相望。在遗址西北起伏的丘陵岗地上,有6座呈半弧形分布的土墩墓,当地群众称之为四脚墩,四脚墩向东南约500米即是左湖遗址(图一)。
The Zuohu site lies northwest of Zuohu village 1km south of Dantu town and occupies at present an area of about 30,000 sq m.It was excavated in 1991,which resulted in the revelation of a surface house and five ash-pits.The unearthed remains represent a Neolithic complex in the Nan- jing-Zhenjiang area and the Hushu culture respectively.The former group is of great importance.Its pottery consists mainly of sandy ware,and clay vessels occur in a small number.In type there are the fu cauldron,he tripod,jar,vat,bowl,etc.The stone tools include axes,adzes and knives.This group of remains shows great similarity to that represented by Beiyinyangying H68 and H70 as well as to the Dingshadi remains.It must belong to the same culture as the latter do,and can be roughly dated to 6800—7000 BP.
