The New Archaeological Discoveries of Prehistoric City Sites and the Origin of Chinese Civilization

近十多年来考古新发现的五十多座史前城址不是中国五六千年文明史的证据，而是中国文明漫长起源期的历史反映。仰韶时代的初现的城市代表了中国文明的萌芽与奠基，龙山时代繁盛的城市是文明即将诞生的标志。

More than 50 prehistoric city sites were discovered in China.These sites,dating 5000～6000 years ago,should not be regarded as the evidence of a civilized society.Instead,they are the remains of the origin of a civilization.The earlier cities of the Yangshao Time represent the beginning of civilization.The prosperous cities of the Longshan Time indicate that China was nearly on the threshold of a civilized society.On the whole civilization had not fully developed before the Xia Dynasty.
