On Wen Yiduo's Concept of “the Universe Consciousness”

本文认为 ,闻一多先生所提出的“宇宙意识”,近似于中国古代哲人所说的“道”。它反映了中国古代艺术思维的民族特征。艺术家对“宇宙意识”或“道”的情感体验特色 ,使“宇宙意识”或“道”具有不同的审美价值。“宇宙意识”的提出 ,对中国古代文学和古代美学的研究 。

The author holds that “the universe consciousness” put forward by Mr. Wen Yiduo seems to be similar to the notion Tao advocated by ancient Chinese philosophers, which mirrors the national features of artistic thinking in ancient China. The characteristics as a result of artists' emotionally observing and learning from “the universe consciousness” or Tao enable them to have different aesthetic values. Therefore, the creation of the concept “the universe consciousness” is of great significance in the study of ancient Chinese literature and aesthetics.
