The German Military Mission and the Sino-German Relations

对于德国军事顾问在华的地位与作用问题，国内外学者历来褒贬不一。本文通过对来华德国军事顾问在中德关系初步发展、密切合作及逆转恶化等不同时期的身份、活动范围、所起作用及其影响限度等问题的分析，肯定了德国军事顾问在促进中德两国经济、军事合作方面所起的积极作用。同时，也揭示其在华活动。

Abstract The role the former German military mission played in China has always been a disputed issue among Chinese and foreign scholars. This paper analyses the status, the sphere of activities, and the limitation of influence of the mission in different periods in China. The mission helped to promote the economic and military cooperation between Germany and China but their activities and fate in China were controlled and restrained by the state strategies of their own country.
