A survey of studies on text coherence

本文首先对有关语篇连贯的理论进行了评述，然后从语境、认知模式、语篇意义和衔接机制等几个方面汇总决定语篇连贯的条件，从语篇的编码和解码两个角度总结出语篇连贯的分析框架，最后指出了语篇连贯研究中需要解决的问题和语篇连贯研究可能的发展趋势。

The aim of the article is to summarize the achievements and Problems in the study of text coherence, and todetermine the possible trend of development in this area of research. First it gives a brief comment on the study of textcoherence in the past thirty years. Then it discusses the conditions of text coherence for the point of view of contextcognitive model, meaning and cohesion, and sets up a framework for the analysis of text coherence from both thedecoding and encoding points of view. Finally, it points out the problems and the possible trends of development on textcoherence research.
