摘要
Take Shenzhen as the case, the present text devotes its attention to the discussion of the role of government in the development of hi-tech industries. The Shenzhen experience is analyzed to ascertain the role of the market and the situations for government action and inaction. It is concluded that it is feasible to have an approach to develop the hi-tech industries by market orientation, external economies, by mainly non-state enterprises and through importation and innovation. This could be a basic option for China to develop the hi-tech industries.
