Liu Zhiji's Theory of History Recording Style from the Perspective of Concept and Objective Being

刘知几以名实这一范畴为依据，对我国古代史籍体例与内容进行了系统的考察和研究，试图纠正史学编撰中体例不纯、名实不副之弊。本文从他的名实观入手探讨其史体论，并分析了其史体论的特点。

Basing on concept and objective being, Liu had made a systematic inspection and research of the ancient historical records of China and tried to correct the faults therein. The present authors is a study of his stylistic theory - its features, contributions and shortcomings - starting from his understanding of these two categories.
