This paper discusses the basic characteristics of the contrastive analysis and the error analysis. In combination with the linguistic teaching and learning, it also deals with the limitation ,the supplement as well as the application future of the two methods .The purpose is to avoid their disadvantages and to make full use of their advantages in order to improve teaching and learning and increase the efficiency of teaching as well as learning.
