Abstract Capital is the key to the study of British Industrial Revolution,which evoked much controversy.This thesis focuses o n the demand of the industrial capital in the early stage of British Industrial Revolution.As a general rule,with economic growth,the inputs of capital increase,but the demand for industrial capital was not large in the early stage of British Industrial Revolution,which can be confirmed from three dimensions that include the characteristic of industrial sectors,the allocation of capital in industrial and the change of production organization and management.With the expansion of production scale and increasing of mechanization,it was after 1830s when enough capital could be supplied that the Industrial Revolution witnessed capital demand raise.
