By using the methods of literature and questionnaire, based on 2003 Volleyball World Cup and 2003—2004 Chinese Volleyball Games, the author analyzes the situation and trend of setting techniques of modern volleyball and the situation and characteristics of the setting techniques of our country, points out the weakness in the setting techniques of our country compared with world's advanced ones, and presents some methods and strategies to promote the setting techniques of our country.
