Abstract Since the establishment of special organizations for studying international relations in 1919, profound and complicated changes have taken place in the international relations. The evolution process is a multi-level and multi-dimensional one. Starting from the 1970s, with the advent of the era of globalization, the development of international relations has entered into a mature period, which presents four characteristics: a) developing in the direction of multi-polarization; b) features of the international relations as a whole becoming salient; c) tending to be orderly and institutionalized; and d) observig an increase of democracy. The evolution of the international relations is not a uniform process, therefore, when examining the international relations in context of globalization, we must proceed from a comprehensive and dialectical perspective.
