信言不美——中西修辞学比较

Beauty Exists in Natural Expressions:A Comparative Study in Chinese and Western Rhetoric

本文从比较的角度对中西修辞学做出探讨 ,作者认为尽管中西在语言与文化传统上存在着巨大的差异 ,但是双方分享着某些类似性 ,这种类似性即重自然表述 ,而非装饰性或造情式的编码。其差异性是形式和强调的重点有所不同。作者指出修辞学的深入研究在于将双方的优势加以借鉴和互补 。

This paper deals with the Chinese and Western rhetoric from the angle of comparative study. Differenciated from languages and cultural traditions, both the Chinese and Western share certain similarities which are mainly involoved with the natural expressions, rather than over decorated or affected encodings. But the forms and emphasis of the two are different. The writer points out that the further study of rhetoric could hardly depend on simply borrowing conceptions and catergories from the west but make the study renewal by filtering both traditions and combining both strong points.
