New Interpretation of Female Characters in Western Literature

该文从西方文学中女性形象的产生、地位、类型 ,女性形象的演变等各方面入手 ,分析探讨女性形象的内涵 :女性社会地位低下是男权社会所确定。女性生活家庭化、人生价值取向家庭化 ,致使女性的追求多局限于爱情婚姻及家庭。女性的觉醒成长缓慢与男性文化对女性的期待规约。

This article analyzes and explores the deep meaning of female characters in Western literature in different perspectives. The low social status of the female is determined by the male\|dominated society. The female life and values are restricted in the family, therefore the female's pursuit is limited to love, marriage and the family. The slow awakening of the female is due to the expectations and stipulation for the female in the male culture, the flaws of feminist theories, and the weakness of the female themselves.
