翻译标准与译文质量———浅析《大学英语》精读教师用书所附参考译文中的某些不恰当翻译

How to Follow the Criteria for Translation

翻译标准是翻译实践的准绳和衡量译文好坏的尺度。翻译时既要忠实原文又要译文通顺。目前《大学英语》精读教师用书所附译文中有些翻译片面强调“忠实”，过分直译甚至死译，致使译文不通顺，不符合汉语的表达习惯；还有个别翻译没有准确表达出原文意思，有误译。

The criteria for translation are the yardstick for measuring a piece of translated work.The current criterion for translation in China is the translated work should be both faithful and smooth.When it is faithful but not smooth or smooth but not faithful,it is not a good translation.In the chinese translation of the Texts and Reading Passages in Teacher's Books of Intensive Reading of College English,there are some incorrect translated sentences.The translators put undue empbasis on “Faithfulness”or literal translation.So the translation is not smooth and not easy to understand.And they translate some sentences wrongly.Even one of the translators omits some words in translation
