To study with an open mind,integrate theory with practice and critically inherit the ancient,modern,Chinese and foreign cultural legacies-these are the important content and characteristics of Xu Telie's thought in doing scholarly research.The above-mentioned aspects of studying methods summed up by Xu have a very great significance for us today to absorb the progressive culture,science and technology of foreign countries more effectively.
