A Bird's Eye View of History of Publication in 20th Century China

中国出版史研究自１８９７年叶昌炽发表《藏书记事诗》至今，刚好有一个世纪的时间，前５０年的论著偏重于图书史、印刷史和藏书史，多为考据之作，资料搜集虽丰，但理论阐述不足。中间３０年虽有所改观，但呈不均衡发展状态，直至８０年代以后进入繁荣阶段，高潮迭起，佳作层出，填补了编辑史、翻译史、发行史、版画史等诸多空白。

Abstract The study of China's history of publication started a century ago,when Ye Changzi published Cangshu Jishi shi (Chronicle Poems of Book Collecting) in 1897.In the first 50 years,studies in the field were focused on book history,printing history and book-collecting history. Great efforts were made to gather first-hand materials,while theoretical analysis was almost absent.In the next 30 years,the situation was somewhat improved,yet the development was still uneven.A prosperous period has arrived in the 1980s,when many books and papers were published that filled the gap of editing history,history of translation and history of distribution.
