摘要
古代的三峡地区，山高峡深，林木茂盛，物产多样，自然资源十分丰富。但由于交通不便、人口稀少、开发困难，一直是贫穷落后之地。到了唐代，随着国家的统一和政局的稳定，三峡地区的政区设置不断完善，人口不断增加，农业逐渐发展，商业日益活跃，社会生活内容多样，发展情况超过唐以前的任何朝代。
Sanxia district in ancient time was rich in natural resoures with variety of products,high moutttains, deep valleys and dense forests. Because of unconvenient transportation, sparsepopulation, difficulty in developing, it remained poor and backword. In Tang Dynasty, with theunity of the country, stability of political situation, perfection of administration in this district,the population increase, agriclture developed gradually, bueiness grew, and social life was richand alive, suopassing that of any dynasties preceednig Tang Dynasty.
