On the Originality of Latin Philosophy and Cicero's Interpretation of Philosophy

学术界历来贬低或否认拉丁哲学的成就及其相对独立的地位。本文考察拉丁哲学的起源及罗马共和国末期哲学观念的变迁，指出希腊哲学融入拉丁文化是通过以西塞罗为代表的一批拉丁知识分子的努力开始的，这种创建本民族哲学的努力应当给予肯定。

So much depreciation and negation were put on the fruits and relative independent position of Latin philosophy from the scholars in the academic circles. This paper, therefore, gives a survey on the Originality of Latin philosophy and the transformation of the conception of philosophy in the late Roman Republic. Based on the reading of Cicero's works, the anthor confirms that the incultulation of Greek philosophy into Latin culture started with the efforts of the Latin intellectuals, who were represented by Cicero. Their sincere work should be given high evaluation, whatever their ideal of construction of Latin philosophy was realized or not.
