Sun Wu the Master of the Art of War:He is General Tian Kai of Qi

春秋兵圣孙武子其人，自南宋迄今，深为学界持疑，甚至否定史有其人。辨真与证伪两派围绕《左传》何以不载孙武子之事为中心，展开了激烈的论争。本文通过对正反双方主要论点之客观比较与分析、尤其是以古代宗室礼制为线索，指出《左传》中实有孙武子之记载，并以国史与家乘相参证，考明孙武子即齐将田开。

There has long been a debated argument since the Southern Song Dynasty over the existence of Sun Wu, the master of the art of war the Spring and Autumn period, an argument which is centered on the fact that Sun Wu was somehow never mentioned in his contemporary historical record of Zuo Zhuan. This study offers a new argument that Sun Wu was exactly a well known historical figure: General Tian Kai of Qi, the record of whom can be readily found and recogonized in Zuo Zhuan. The argument is based on a careful study of classical historical records and a newly discovered Sun Family Genealogy. This study provides a new understanding and a valid historical perspective of The Art of war by Sun Wu.
