The Ecological Believes behind Southern China Housing: A Linguistic Approach

本文从中国江南土建时老百姓所一向尊崇的信仰与禁忌，举例探讨东方传统的环境思想。全文共分择地、朝向、格局、围护和庭植等五个方面，各以一句典型的民谚为例，阐释其中所蕴含的信仰心态和环境意识。文章认为，这些民谚中所体现出的生态信仰包含着深刻的道理，有着朴素的唯物论的环境规。文章指出，江南“民宅”的构建思想不仅注重功能性，还同时强调心理因素，将感情意识程人结构形体中，使之人性化，因而富有生气。

This paper inquires into the environmental ideology of the Chinese eastem housing tradition. It has five parts: choice of the building, locations, diections, enclosure for protection and plants in the gardens. Each of them is provided with a typical proverb to explaine the believes and environmental consciousness contained there-in.
