摘要
本文探讨莎士比亚的《错误的喜剧》与古罗马喜剧家普劳图斯作品之间的模仿与继承关系。作为莎翁的“习作”,《错》剧是普劳图斯喜剧的模仿,模仿中有继承,继承后而有发展。《错》剧中的梦幻世界和梦幻中的疯狂是创新。《错》剧于嘻笑打逗中似乎又透出一丝悲哀;于夫妻、兄弟大团圆的和美之声中似乎又传出一缕乱音———在喜剧的喧闹中,莎翁没有忘记对人和现实的关注。这正是莎翁作为一位基督教人文主义剧作家的特质。
The present paper expounds that Shakespeare′s The Comedy of Errors is both an imitation and development of Roman playwright Plautus′ The Twin Menaechmi.Shakespeare′s The Comedy of Errors,while sustaining the comic essence of its predecessor,uplifts the Roman comedy into a genre of higher ideals with fuller plot complication.The dream world and the madness in such a world are certainly Shakespeare′s invention.To crown it all,a grain of sadness intertwined with the hilarity can be sensed in the play,and a note of discord heard above the harmony of family reunion.In the burlesque of The Comedy of Errors ,Shakespeare does not fail to remember his dutiful concern of the people and the reality,which constitutes one of the several important traits of all the works of this Christian humanistic playwright.
