南京是中国东南沿海的长江流域汇合部重要的中心城市、江苏省省会,是长江下游的经济中心、科教中心和商贸中心,在江苏经济发展和整个长江流域的开放与开发中占有十分重要的地位.南京又是一个经济开放度较高的城市,产业结构的变动与调整透射出当今经济全球化发展的某种趋势,在新的一轮开放经济发展的背景下,南京的产业结构调整与升级面临新的发展机遇;同样,在南京迎接新世纪的产业结构升级中。

Nanjing is a economic central city of Yangtze River economic area of China, with a area advantage for economic develoopment. From early in 1980's to the end of the 20th century, Nanjing has been kept in maintaining a long period of economic growth. For foreign direct investment, there are at least three aspects which have a good future of development in Nanjing industrial structure: high-new technology industry, agricultural structure growth, evolution of structure of service industry, growth of the structure of main manufacturing. Nanjing is facing a new stage of economic development in the new century, and foreign direct investment would have a new chance to join the evolution of Nanjing industrial structure in Nanjing open economy in the 21th century.
