Students that had returned home after learning in Japan kept close ties with the society and appeared differently at different periods of modern China.Among the social strata,they were the group most sensitive to social realities.They were naturally inclined toward social changes and played radical roles in those changes.Their roles were irreplaceable when transition became the trend;progress,the inevitable;and reform,the success.They were a pushing force behind the modernization of Yunnan.
