Abstract The author argues that Marx's theory on the origin of capitalism is mainly not in the twenty forth chapter of volume one of his Capital ,but in his article ‘The Forms before the Emergence of Capitalist Production’.In this article Marx for the first time systematically demonstrated what were the main body which first developed into capitalist production relations and its social and economic origins,the objective conditions in which capitalist production relations could emerge and the historical course in which such conditions had been created,and the factors which promoted or hindered the emergence of capitalism.Marx's work in this article provided important clues to a correct understanding of the problems on the origin of capitalism.
