AbstractSince Clinton's renewed presidency, he has adjusted continuously the US domestic and foreign policies to the point of intermedium tilted to conservatism. He took moderate stand to the economic and social reforms, kept strong continuity on domestic and foreign policies, and didn't make new big mistakes in carrying out his policies. Meanwhile, as the US economy kept on developing with its social condition in a good state and living standard generally improved, most of the public were satisfied with the status quo, and the society was relatively stable. Now the US domestic political situation is characterized as follows: Taking middle road more actively, Clinton has made distinct progress on advancing social policy reforms, and this, however, is attacked and resisted by US liberals and conservatives; Common understanding between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party increases, Party politics is to be mitigated, but new split and alignment are arising in the two parties; Though the coordination between the Administration and Congress is strengthened, it is still limited; Clinton's achievement is acknowledged, his public support rate keeps at high level, and his current ruling position is more solid than that of his first term, though he is still puzzled by scandals.
