Querying the Statement that Shakespeare's Depiction of Women is of Humanism

关于莎士比亚的妇女观是新型的人文主义说，几乎已成公论。但是，无论是从他的戏剧作品中表现出来的关于家庭主妇的观念，还是关于寡妇以及少女的观念，都明显地反映出他那与基督教文化精神和教会世界观一脉相承的等级、秩序、和谐的思想观念，因此，莎士比亚的妇女观在本质上并不是人文主义的，而是传统的教会封建主义的。

Abstract It is almost a universally acknowledged statement that Shakespeares depiction of women is of a new line of humanism.But the statement is not telling the truch,because his ideas expressed in his plays either about housewives or about widows or maidens,evidently indicate that he was keeping with the ideology of social stratum,order and harmony which could be traced to the same origin as that of the spirit of Christian culture and the outlook of Church.Accordingly,Shakespeare's view of women is not of humanism in nature,but of traditional church feudalism.
