On the Meaning of Language and Its Function in the Teaching of Foreign Languages

本文从对语言的形式和意义分析入手，着重探讨了语言的各种意义，以及它们的相互关系和在外语教学中的作用，指出了文化对语言的意义具有重要的影响。因此，外语教学应把中心放在意义教学上。

Abstract By analyzing the form and the meaning of the language,the article focuses on the study of the various kinds of meaning of the language,their relations and their function in foreign language teaching.It points out that culture exerts great influence on the meaning and understanding of the language.Therefore,the teaching of meaning should be regarded as the center of foreign language teaching to improve the students capacity in communication.
