Abstract Liao Zhongkai is a great patriot in modern Chinese history,and his patriotism is profoundly meaningful.He received good family education at an early age,and was later greatly upset by the severe national crises.These factors form the social and ideological bases of his patriotism.The main content of his patriotism is closely related to the national salvation movement and revolutionary activities,and its aim is to build a powerful and prosperous new nation which belongs to the people.His patriotism reaches its peak when blended and interacted with the then advanced socialist ideological trend.Liao regards it as his supreme principle to unite his patriotism with practice and devotes his whole life to the homeland,which he insists on saving,constructing and developing through revolution. Liao Zhongkai's patriotism vividly reflects his time and his special character.It has become part of the Chinese soul,and deserves to be forever studied,carried forward and enhanced.
