On Politicizing Ethics

在儒家“伦理政治化，政治伦理化”的伦理政治理论建构中，荀子以其对伦理的政治化定位，而占据着这一理论建构的重要地位。荀子的思想主旨不是要建构形上的宇宙论。他理论的意图是，通过对人性的诘问，为政治控制提供人性根据；通过隆礼重法的安排，把人伦关系格式化为政治关系，通过维齐非齐的叙说，证立平等的伦理目标只有借助于不平等的政治安排才能够达到。从而，使儒家伦理政治理论的政治意涵凸显出来。

Abstract In the theoretical construct of the Confucian ethical politics,namely “the politicizing of ethics and moralizing of politics,”Hsun Tse plays an important role in the politicizing of ethics.The essence of Hsun Tses thought is not to construct the metaphysical cosmology.His intention is to provide some humanitarian ground for political control through interrogation of human nature.He also formulizes human relationship into political relationship through emphasis on rituals and laws and proves that the ethical goal of equality would not be fulfilled without the unequal political arrangement.In so doing,he foregrounds the political significance of the Confucian theory of political ethics.
