Liu Shaoqi and traditional Chinese culture

刘少奇与中国传统文化密切而复杂的关系,迄今仍是刘少奇研究领域的空白.本文对刘少奇走上共产主义道路中传统文化作用、他对待传统文化的基本态度、对传统文化的利用、保护和弘扬等方面,在宽泛的“传统文化”概念内进行了探讨,揭示刘少奇坚持以马克思主义原则处理与传统文化关系的可贵思想和实践.

The relationship between Liu Shaoqi and the traditional Chinese culture is a close and complex one;however,it is a field into which little research has hitherto been conducted. Referring to 'traditiomal culture'in a broad sense of the term,this paper aims to explore the influence of the traditional Chines culture upon Liu Shaoqi in his becoming a communist,his attitude towards the traditional Chinese culture,as well as his application,protection and promotion of this culture. The general purpose of this exploration is to bring to view Liu's valuable ideas and practice in upholding Marxist principles to establish a proper relationship between himself and the traditional Chinese culture.
