On the Cultural Pattern and Destiny of the Xueheng Scholars

在本世纪初期发生的东西方文化论争中，《学衡》诸子是被作为反对革新的保守派看待的。仔细考察《学衡》诸子当时的文化主张，其中不乏启发时人今人之处。其作为一种文化模式实际上失落在历史的缝隙之中，原因在诸子们行动上的陷入误区，学理本身的混茫。《学衡》诸子拟定的文化模式不是补偏救弊的对症良药。

AbstractThe scholars of the Xueheng School were considered as the conservatives in the arguments between the western and the eastern cultures in the early times of this century. Being investigated attentively, the cultural pattern advocated by the scholars of the School was astray in action but showed a new cultural ideal for creating a future world.
