Abstract After more than ten years of development,the hotel industry has become the main force of the tourist industry in Shenzhen,but owing to the down growth of the competitiveness of the whole tourism market of Shenzhen,the blind investment and overlapped construction,the hotel industry is plunged into a difficult management situation with over supply,unbalanced structure and decreasing profits.The author holds that in order to reverse the passire situation,Shenzhen should urgently do the following:1.Reviewing its tourism image and market position and persistently carrying out marketing and promotion centring around its tourism image;2.Strengthening the macroscopic control of the government departments and deeping the reform of investment and management systems;3.Taking the road of specialization and serialization with the brands as the motive force;4.Continuously improving and raising the level of software and hardware management and services in the hotels;5.Controlling the operation costs and raising the economic effects.
