Abstract Nowadays knowledge economy has become another social and academic hot point after the information expressway.The knowledge economy has caused new radical changes in the social and economic mode structures of the world.As far as the tourist industry is concerned,knowledge economy has bronght both the motive force and new opportunities and challenges to the future tourism and leisure industry,as well as new demands for the personnel in the industry.The author points out that it is necessary for the tourism and leisure industry to carry out adjustment and reform and bravely face the challenges.
