AbstractThe transnational management of oil in the Gulf countries started early 1980s;since the inception of 1990s,it has markedly intensified and expanded,and has begun to set its vision of overseas oil investment on the East. There are five characteristics in the transnational management of oil in the Gulf countries:One,for ensuring structural optimization benefits of transnational management,the construction of oil refineries is generally emphasized so as to open up marketing of the locally produced crude oil.Two,the transnational management covers wide areas,forming a global pattern of all round development.Three,for realizing the best disposition of production factors,flexible and diverse ways of management are adopted and various channels taken to expand transnational investment and operation.Four,the Gulf countries, in order to gain the benefit of scientific and technological progress,have tried their best to adopt the most advanced technology and equipments.Five,while state owned companies being dominant, private capital is encouraged to take part. In recent years, new trends have emerged with regard to the transantional management of oil in the Gulf countries: firstly,it is to take the road of strong strong alliance; secondly,it is to develop deep processing petro chemical industries; thirdly,it is to take an active part in the development of oil and gas in the Caspian Sea and Central Asian regions.The transnational management of oil in the Gulf countries is playing an increasingly importnat and active role in the globalization of world economy.
