On the potential rules of the “promotion to subject” in the English language

本文以语言学的观点在若干方面对主语提升进行理论探讨。在描写“提升”的总的原则、功能和特征的同时，对每个陈述给以必要的解释，并对语言学界存在的不同看法进行评述。

This paper is to deal with “Promotion to Subject” in several aspects from the view point of linguistics. While describing the general principles, functions and characteristics of “the promotion”, necessary explanation are supposed to be given for each point of statements and some comments will be attached where there exist arguments among linguists.
