文学文本中的跨文化交际原则评析

Cultural pluralism or monism — comment on principles of intercultural communication in literary works

本文在回顾跨文化交际研究的历史后认为：跨文化交际研究缺少从跨学科的视角对文学文本作全方位的探索，文学文本可能成为跨文化交际研究中被遗忘的角落。笔者以《鲁滨逊漂流记》和巴赫金的“复调小说理论”为例剖析欧洲中心主义与多元文化论在文学文本中的反映，并以林语堂的《奇异岛》和汤婷婷的《女勇士》、《中国人》为例评述东方跨文化交际原则应坚持平等对话还是搞“一言堂”。

The authors of this paper believe that intercultural communication scholarship seems to have neglected the role of literary works in intercultural communication. As covert culture is difficult to ascertain and much of it is revealed by literary works. the negligence of intercultural communication research into literary works, therefore, is attributed to one of the important factors leading to relatively slack development of intercultural communication studies during the past three decades. They offer two additional literary works which contrast with each other in terms of principles of intercultural communication: The Unexpected Island by Lin Yutang and The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston, and conclude that the study of literature is not the patent of literary critics exclusively. It is likewise the object of intercultural communication research.
