Much attention has been paid to the development of students ability of reading English, especially that of fast reading. But the lack of studies on reading psychology is without doubt to lessen the effect of the development of reading ability. This article aims to analyse, from the point of reading psychology, the relations between such psychological factors as motivation, metacognition, schema, and the reading ability and to study the effects of psychological mechanism of reading on the development of reading ability.
