Abstract The emergence of APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) reflects the needs of its members for a coordination of their interests in the new political and economic environment of the world. The cooperation among its members is facilitated by years of reform and adjustment of economic policies and structures. APEC's regional integrative practice has shown many distinctive features, but there are also a lot of obstacles to the development of APEC.
