论言语道德

On Speech Morals

本文从社会语用实际出发，论述了言语道德问题提出的理论依据和现实基础，阐述了言语道德的性质、特点。

Abstract Speech acts, especially rhetorical acts, have a close relationship with social morality. In the process of speaking or writing, the rhetor has to judge his or her discourse information and rhetorical device on the basis of social morality. The discourse must be evaluated by the public on moral grounds. All speech acts or rhetorical acts must be restricted by certain standards of social morality. The study of speech acts and rhetorical acts should be brought into a new system of value—— speech morals. Proceeding from the actual application of speech acts in China, this paper discusses the nature and characteristics of speech morals, inquires into its basic problems and its structure, and explains its social function in the management of public speech acts.
