Abstract The presentation of literary anthropology at the turn of the century is the academic reaction to social changes as well as the scholars independent choices in thinking of reconstructing the system of knowledge. The great isgnificance of presentation of literary anthropology does not lie in its indicating the birth of a new discipline, but its providing a new perspective for the academic research in the new stage. The paper advocates breaking free from academic conventions and doing research work with pragmatic attitude.
