There is a painting illustrating a musician holding Huqin in the story of Bhaisajyaguruvaidūryaprabhāsa on East Wall of the Eastern Thousand Buddhas Cave 7.It is another new find following the figure of Huqin found in the Yulin Grottoes .In the same murals,we also found a Huapengu,a rare pereussian instrument.Huqin is also called Xiqin or Jiqin.It was first found in the Tang dynasty.Huapengu is also called Ganggu.The emergence of Huqin and Huapengu in the murals represents the development of musical culture and art in the Western Xia period.It also shows that the two kinds of musical instruments were wide used in Gansu in the time.They fill in the gaps in the history of music and instruments.
