In Gao Guofan’s works,he first introduced the peculiar case of sorcery using in wooing somebody, recorded in Dunhuang MSS.P.2610 and 2661,and andalysed the fundamental tenets of sorcery and folklore.But the author of the present paper thinks that Mr.Gao could not find errors in the manuscripts, so his related analysis and exposition are unrealistic and did not bring to light the cultural gene and links of sorcery and folklore.On the basis of collation, the present paper will try to seek the cultural gene and its carrier of the sorcery and discuss the relations between hair and the culture of human relations, thus bringing to light the cultural connotation of wooing sorcery,that is to say,its ignorace and fraudulence.It will also expound the development of the related folk customs.
