The proper organization of the phonological structures,as well as that of the syntactic structures, is hypothesized to have a textual feature.If it is true,language then has three dimensions.To put it another way,Lexis has phonic,semantic,and lexical/syntactic features;Clause has phonology,syntax(in the narrow sense),and semantic meaning;and Text,too,has three dimensions,i.e.the organization of phonology,the organization of syntax and the structure of text semantic meaning.The paper accounts for the status of Phonology in linguistics,then the places of Knowledge/Schema,Psychology/Memory Storage,and the so called Substance Level,and finally sets up the new model which unites Hallidays Rank Theory and Level Theory of language.
